A win that was thrown away. It’s hard to explain what happened on matchday 22 at the Stadio Comunale Caselle in Sommacampagna, where ACMilan Primavera were 3-0 up after a great first half before letting it slip as Chievo came back to draw 3-3. The Rossoneri’s goalscorers were Maldini, Sala and Tsadjout, and there was no sign of what was to come until halfway through the second half. It seemed that the first opposition goal would only be a consolation, but it instead triggered a complete capitulation from Giunti’s side. The team started the game very well, taking the lead and extending it. In the second half, they seemed to be managing the lead well before falling apart. The result doesn’t tell the full story of how the game went and it’s a precious opportunity missed to pick up points with the team in a real relegation battle.

THE REPORT Milan Primavera got off to a flying start. In the second minute, Capanni played in a cross from the left which Tsadjout headed to Maldini, who also used his head to make it 1-0. In the eighth minute, Capanni carried the ball forward into the area before sliding it across to Sala for the tap-in to make it 2-0. The Rossoneri were in control and made it 3-0 in the 43rd minute with a great piece of play from Tsadjout, who got away from his man before finishing beyond the oncoming Malaguti. At the start of the second half, the rhythm dropped with Chievo trying but struggling to create chances. In the 67th minute, they were able to get one back with a Rabbas shot across goal. From then on, the Rossoneri fell apart and were pegged back. In the 83rd minute, Rovaglia found the net with his chest from a corner before D’Amico equalised in the 86th minute after controlling the ball and volleying home. Before the final whistle, the visitors had chances to win it but it wasn’t to be.
